Liked: Beautiful location and building, and a fantastically reasonable price for a shared bedroom. Really friendly and helpful checking in staff
Disliked: The mattresses got a little hard in the night. If you want a long soak in a bath this isn't for you...

Great stay with a couple...

Liked: Beautiful building. Friendly, helpful staff. Great bar and facilities. Breakfast was superb. Overall great atmosphere. We felt very welcome.
Disliked: Poorly insulated rooms. We stayed during a heatwave so the room was awfully hot. Location wasn't amazing but short taxi ride so not a deal breaker.WiFi and mobile reception nonexistent on 2nd floor.

Liked: Self-catering kitchen was well stocked with all you needed. Appreciated having a car park onsite and the ensuite room was a big size.
Disliked: WiFi was patchy in most areas of the hostel.

Not comparable with other YHA

Liked: The property grounds were good with tables and benches available to relax.Dining staff were good ; we waited for an hour for our food though.
Disliked: Old building is a charm but this wasn’t maintained - common area carpets are dirty and smell, the games room pool table is stained with what looks like water that dripped from the roof, shared toilets were not cleaned from the time that we checked in to the following day. I’ve booked a family room and unlike other YHA, this one doesn’t come with ensuite. Due to elevated temperature, the rooms were stuffy and uncomfortable - other YHA has electric fans.

Very convenient and comfortable.

Liked: The staff were really friendly and helpful. The building was historic and in lovely grounds. Easy walk into Stratford.

1st stay in a hostel...

Liked: Clean, compact, comfortable, clean ensuite with good hot shower. Good hot cooked breakfast
Disliked: No fan in the room for warm weather.

Cheap and quality venue!

Liked: The property is out of the way but not that far from amenities. Quiet, clean, friendly atmosphere.
Disliked: The sign at the bar that said “the bar will be closing early this evening”. There wasn’t a time and we bought one round and wanted to get more. A little thing but was kind of a hindrance.
