YHA Poppit Sands

Clean and value for money.

Liked: The sound of the ocean through the open window. The bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
Disliked: The curtain needs replacing.There isn't much space to park and it's a little tricky.

Hoping to visit again!

Liked: The location was lovely, quiet and a view of the sea from our bedroom window. Facilities good and well stocked kitchen with everything needed for our short stay.
Disliked: Parking was difficult and if you were the first one back you would be the last to leave due to cars being crammed into a tiny space. Also steps down to the youth hostel, which were a slip hazard due to the weather, would have been good if the volunteers had removed the wet leaves daily! There was not enough comfortable seating and the rooms could do with a comfy chair as no where to sit. Other than that a lovely restful stay, I would book again.

Unusual and a little inconvenient...

Liked: The location.
Disliked: Unfortunately, on arrival I was told that there was no electricity in the rooms and only 1 working plug socket in the building. Also, on the 1st floor there was only 1 working toilet and shower, the others were out of service. Finally, the volunteers told me that due to waste management issues, there was a rat problem too. This was all rather disappointing and I wasn't told in advance, so I had the choice to change my booking, but on arrival.

Small friendly hostel with a...

Liked: Very friendly and helpful staff. The location is beautiful, with fantastic views. Very nice garden with picnic benches making the most of the view. Good kitchen and dining facilities and value for money. There is parking available, and although limited, it worked well.
Disliked: On a steep narrow road, this in itself was not a problem, but we found one of the locals unfriendly and impatient whilst we were trying to park.The property is accessed by going down a number of steps. This was not a problem for us, but would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues.

Bad

Liked: The view from our bedroom window over the sea was amazing however this is the only positive thing I can say, everything else was downhill.
Disliked: Where do I start, the accomodation was absolutely definately not one I'd recommend for families. Not only did we have no board games available, but also the place had NO SIGNAL OR WIFI. The beds were also very uncomfortable to the point where all our kids awoke with bad backs. I was awoken at 05:00AM to someone banging around in the kitchen and slamming doors.I can honestly say I will never be staying here ever again.
