Totally fine.

Liked: Great location as we were cycling the Devon Coast to Coast. However the staffing issues meant tricky to get hold of towels that we wanted to hire and some delay in getting into the room. However we enjoyed our stay.
Disliked: Communication. We aren't used to bunk beds and are in our 60s so not so comfy but all ok.

Superb

Liked: The location for the start of walks and getting to the hostel via the train was perfect. Kitchen facilities were great.
Disliked: The beds were the smallest beds I had ever been in! Seemed child-sized. The room was pretty compact too.

Liked: Very clean room, good price. Good value breakfast. Drying room for hikers and bikers caught out in the weather.
Disliked: I would have been willing to pay to do laundry, but washing facilities were not available.

Convenient location

Liked: Convenient location. helpful staff member who left our keys in reception area as we could not check in during allocated hours. However with reception area being insecure it was worrying that someone else could have taken the keys
Disliked: Front door insecure, didn't close properly behind you so building insecure every time we exited or entered building. No towels supplied so unable to use ensuite facilities. Check in hours awkward
