Located in the heart of Nelson this 5-star hostel features free WiFi shared kitchen facilities spacious dining area and a sunny garden with a courtyard BBQ. The common areas include air hockey and table football. Surrounded by cafes and restaurants YHA Nelson is a 10-minute drive from Tahunanui Beach and a 15-minute drive from Nelson Airport. The Interislander Ferry Terminal in Picton is only 90 minutes' drive away. Facilities include an internet kiosk with Skype access guest lounge with LCD TV and DVD collection and hammocks in the garden. The tour desk can book kayaking skydiving wine and craft beer tours and walks through Abel Tasman National Park. Expensive for what I received.

Liked: Clean bed, nice bathroom
Disliked: Expensive. Charged hotel rates for a room with the only window near the ceiling; no refrigerator and no tea and coffee making facilities. If they charge hotel rates they should provide the basics.

Pleasant stay and friendly staff.

Liked: The staff here were really friendly and helpful and could answer any questions and give me advice. The Hostel has all the facilities I needed.
Disliked: The rooms are a little dated and at times felt quite crowded.

Liked: Such an excellent hostel.Staff were lovely and very friendly and helpful.The hostel was so so clean. The cleanest i have stayed in on my travels. Bathrooms and kitchen were amazing. An exceptionally well run hostelBed was so comfortable and heating as required.
Disliked: Nothing. Everything was perfect.

Superb

Liked: Exceptionally clean.The living room is big enough to allow for yoga. Also, it is exquisitely perfumed. :-)
Disliked: The WiFi includes only 1GB.When checking out, you're only allowed to stick around until 11AM. In NZ, Hostels are usually more relaxed.

If only more YHA's were...

Liked: reception to departure just a very pleasant experience as usual
Disliked: I can't think of anything that could be better done
