Liked: Lovely staff and perfect location on the Cumbria Way.The setting is absolutely wonderful – right by the river on the edge of the charming town of Keswick. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. I truly love staying with YHA – they never disappoint!

Great value, friendly vibe, perfect...

Liked: The people at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful. Given how many people on a floor were sharing the showers and toilets, they were very clean and I appreciated that they were separate and individual. The drying room was very helpful too! The breakfast options were of good value. As others mention, the river sounds outside the window were lovely to fall asleep to.
Disliked: Can’t think of anything, it was very efficiently run.

Nice staff and food but...

Liked: Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good quality.
Disliked: It was very loud, even for a hostel. Drunk people literally standing in the hall slamming doors repeatedly at midnight, busy and loud rooms with their doors kept open etc. Appreciate staff are off site at night but there needs to be a way of enforcing quiet other than reminders on the walls because a lot of us were struggling, especially as this isn't exactly a budget hostel. Beds were also too short, I'm tall but not freakishly tall.
