If it's just for one...

Liked: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice. The bedding is clean. The location is really good, very close to the China museum and it's about two miles from the Iron bridge. The breakfast is ok.
Disliked: I booked a room with a private bathroom. The bathroom blinds are stained and do not look clean. The hostel itself looks like an improved version of prison. Probably it's just my imagination.

Disliked: There was a strong, unpleasant smell coming from the shower in our room. These things need to be checked.

Disliked: Room was noisy due to school group above. Some kitchen appliances didn’t work as expected

An excellent stopping place in...

Liked: The hostel is obviously well run and the atmosphere friendly and welcoming. The staff seem to enjoy their job. They explained the operation of the hostel clearly and were generally very helpful. The meals available were very good (though oats could be added to the breakfast selection!) There are interesting walks from the hostel, for example along to the Iron Bridge. Our overall impression was very favourable.
Disliked: Our stay was overnight on an exceptionally warm night. The ventilation in the hostel seemed inadequate for that circumstance. The staff told us in the morning that a fan could have been provided. It would have been better if they had mentioned that option on our arrival given that it was clearly going to be an uncomfortable night.
