Liked: Beautiful location. An affordable way of staying in the area for a big family birthday.

Great stay but a few...
Liked: The family room with en-suite was excellent for our age group of grandchildren. Enjoyed the self catering aspect. The security was also good and we liked the freedom it allowed our grandchildren to have from our room to the play room whilst giving us peace of mind. The location was really good to be able to walk to Ironbridge, and both Jackfield and Coalport museums. Also, Blists Hill Victorian museum was only a short ride away.We really liked that the children could eat for £1 when an adult meal was purchased.
Disliked: The bed sheets barely fitted the mattress and our youngest grandson often woke up on the bare mattress.Several of the bulk head lights did not work, so couldn't read when others were sleeping.(reported on arrival)Bathroom light stayed on and would go off when you were in the shower, plunging you into darkness. (reported on first morning)The extractor fan in the bathroom wasn't working. There was an awful smell from our bathroom shower because the sink drained into it.. It got worse as the week progressed (reported to reception as the smell got worse). In the communal kitchen, lots of saucepans, but very few lids that fitted.A water juggling would be usefulNo scissors (perhaps may have been taken by someone)Not enough fridge space when the hostel is fairly full and on the first night someone altered the temperature so all our products froze!!☹️Not the hostels fault, but some clients would wash dishes, leave them to dry on the draining board and not come back to clear away. Very inconsiderate of other hostel users.Advertised with a laundry room, but on asking, it wasn't really dedicated for clients, but were quite happy that I could use it as long as it fitted in with hostel washes, which proved not to be a problem. In our room(18), there were a few large, dusty cobwebs in the corners of the windows and the side of the bed nearest the wall had a small ledge which was very dusty.I appreciate that the fire doors have to be self closing, but some of them need their hinges adjusted as they shut VERY LOUDLY, to the point of waking you up.In the shared showers there were hooks to hang things on when showering. However, in the en-suite bathroom there were none, which would be very useful.Whilst the main room has hooks, they were used for coats.A chair in the family dormitory would also be useful.

If it's just for one...
Liked: The staff is very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere is nice. The bedding is clean. The location is really good, very close to the China museum and it's about two miles from the Iron bridge. The breakfast is ok.
Disliked: I booked a room with a private bathroom. The bathroom blinds are stained and do not look clean. The hostel itself looks like an improved version of prison. Probably it's just my imagination.
