A terrific find

Liked: I stayed here with my two girls after a days walking and knowing it was a hostel we were just expecting a place to clean off and rest. We got more than that, we we were given a warm welcome on arrival and all the staff were warm and helpful it really gives the place a pleasant feel to it.The bar and dining area are really nice, lots of choice on the menu and behind the bar. We all had a breakfast and it was really nice with lots to choose from. The facilities are obviously shared but are plentiful, well kept, modern and in good condition.The room and beds were clean and comfortable and the building itself is charming.We were blown away with the location, it’s simply beautiful with some good walks nearby. I’d highly recommend staying here and the kids already want to go back.

Ideal for hiking

Liked: Amazing location but beware it's a rough road and not suitable for all vehicles. There's not much else around, so luckily food is available and an on-site bar.
Disliked: It might be too remote and Spartan for some, but it's the ideal location for walkers and those wanting to explore the rural area.

Liked: Views were best possible for the area and access to the Wainwright's top notch, good food clean and friendly staff.
Disliked: Only problem was pods being next to sewage container place stunk for the two nights was there which partly ruined it you can't expect people to pay extra for the smell of wee and poo

Nice hostel, good value.

Liked: Staff were very friendly, especially a lady who was serving at the restaurant. Price very good and nice location. We had pretty awful weather so could not really enjoy the surroundings properly, but that's not the fault of the property.
Disliked: One main problem was that the wifi wasn't working and there was no phone reception. I had some work to do so had to travel quite far to get a late night signal. But I hope this was a fairly rare event and usually it is working.

Superb

Liked: We booked a landpod for 1 night. Great little set up, toilet and showers were close by and clean.The kids loved it. Everything about the YHA was great. We used the self catering kitchen for our evening meal which had everything we needed. We ordered the unlimited breakfast in the restaurant the next morning, which again was great quality. The location is stunning. Beautiful view and a little stream that the kids had a play in. Staff were very friendly amd helpful. Would definitely stay again.
Disliked: Bed was a little uncomfortable.
