A self-catering dining room and kitchen are available for guests to use. For experienced cyclists The Great Dun Fell provides a challenging route being the second highest hill in the Pennines. This area can be reached in around 15 minutes by car. High Cup Nick Cross Fell and the Eden Valley can be enjoyed on a day walk. The National Trust area of Acorn Bank Garden & Watermill is just 7 miles away while the Rheged Discovery Center and Lake District National Park are a 25-minute drive.

Lovely hostel in rurul village...

Fabulous hiking, beautiful surroundings.

Liked: Good location, lovely pub across the road. Friendly. Great room and bedding.
Disliked: The kitchen Also, the communal space layout was a bit awkward. It would benefit from several smaller areas rather than one long table and just one sitting space facing each other

Great value

Liked: It was great, very nice feel about the place and was clean throughout. We paid £35 for 2 adults and 2 children for 2 bunk beds in a room. Was great value. The 2 lads that run the place are spot on.
Disliked: The fact it is now up for sale which is a huge shame.

Good hostel . Great staff...

Liked: It is a wonderful location , and the staff are very welcoming
Disliked: There are one or two areas which need a bit of improvement . For me the dining area was a bit cold and not so cheery .

A little gem

Liked: Excellent location for walking. Lovely old building. Clean and comfortable room and good facilities. Staff were great.

Great village location, great rooms...

Liked: Nice clean beds and great staff
Disliked: Wish I had found this place years ago . I would have saved a fortune. It’s the only place I will stay when up in the Penrith area.
