YHA Conwy Hostel

Very good

Liked: The staff were great and found us secure storage for our bikes.
Disliked: There is a green LED in the bedroom light which is so bright it illuminates the whole room at night, you need eye patches to sleep.

Liked: When booking this I didn't realise it was a hostel, but as I had a private room I went with it and was pleasantly surprised at the size and cleanliness. .. there was also great views of Conwy from the dining area.I arrived by train and found the hostel was quite a steep walk upwards which I would have found quite difficult if I,d been staying more than one night and had alot of baggage.I didn't eat there but the food did look good and there was a wide range of beverages available throughout the day and night.
Disliked: a coach full of children were staying, and did make alot of noise in the rooms, but they were spoken to after I spoke to a staff member, this wasn't the hostels fault but is also the reason I didn't eat breakfast as the restaurant was full of children, who were given the priority to have their meals.

Conwy wonderful- the hostel ok...

Liked: Conwy and the local people are wonderful! Truly a great location. I walked miles during my stay. There is a day bus ticket £7 that takes you as far as Anglesey and the visitor centre right next to station looks after your luggage for £2 a bag 10-4pm that’s great for those avoiding multi trips up the hill to the hostel. There’s a Lidl over the bridge as spar is costly in the town after a few days.
Disliked: The staff make or break a stay and sadly the staff this summer did spoil the trip. Sullen and silent, you have to approach them knowing the answer to actually get any help as their automatic response was “no” They were lazy and disorganised, no milk for breakfast on the Friday and the hostel wasn’t as clean as other YHAs. Only thing as miserable as the staff is the hill up to the hostel.

Liked: Clean rooms with en-suite bathroom and enough space for storage! Nice view of the mountains from the hostel! Nice staff and tranquil vibe! I wanted to stay an extra night but it was full (even if it didn’t feel crowded which was a bonus)
Disliked: Would be nice to add curtains around the beds for more privacy but I had a great experience anyway

Liked: room was excellent, kitch was really clean and organised. staff were great.
Disliked: Shower was way too powerful, wasting a lot of water. The timer/fan in the bathroom stayed on too long, aprox 45 mins. This was iritating if you went to the toilet in the night.
