Surrounded by the Peak District countryside this Victorian gothic mansion is set in formal gardens and 27 acres of parkland. With 4 caverns on the doorstep it is a great base to explore the spectacular Winnats Pass and Mam Tor. Guests can enjoy a number of walks around the valley overlooked by the picturesque peaks. Peveril Castle is just a few minutes' walk away. Chatsworth House Haddon Hall and Poole's Cavern can all be reached in 30 minutes' drive. It was our first experience...

Liked: Breakfast was good. Although they ran out of coffee. The location was perfect for our stay.
Disliked: There was mold in our bedroom & the lights on one side of the room didn't work.The staff while efficient were not friendly.

Very convenient location and stunning...

Liked: Beautiful location and great to have secure bike shed as we were bike packing. Room was extremely basic - not even a mirror but clean and beds were comfortable. Good value breakfast and easy walk into Castleton for dinner.
Disliked: Staff could have been friendlier. It appeared to be quite hard to manage our booking as we arrived an hour earlier than expected (but still after 3pm!).
