Absolutely one of the best...
Liked: Easy check in, friendly staff, unique location, access to beach, on the Cleveland way, use of kitchen, options for meals and treats, own room, clean and comfortable, heater in room. I also loved it that the YHA comes across as really caring of our environment and the Earth, as seen by the reminders to switch off appliances etc, for Earth sake.
Disliked: My room, a blessed own, was right next to the floor toilet, so I kept being disturbed during night with flushes of toilet and hsndbasin running. Not nice.

What an adventure!
Liked: Thankyou for an amazing and magical time. It was a brilliant time with everything as a whole. My family and I was very pleased with our stay. It was very relaxing and I loved that it was family safe. Kids could play and meet other children without parents worrying. Fantastic walks, small waterfalls, caves and beach's. We did two of the trails, Robin Hood Bay and Ravenscar. A real adventure and loads of enriching history and made magical by your Boggle hobgoblin.

Lovely hostel in amazing location.
Liked: Location and hostel were wonderful. Loved the walk into Robin Hood's Bay. Room was warm and beds comfy. Love the stove roaring away in the cafe bar.
Disliked: Breakfast was the only thing that didn't meet expectation. We booked our place for 9am but when we arrived there were no tables free to sit at. We were told we could take our food through to the cafe but this wasn't a great option as it meant taking our plates outside into the cold so we waited for one to become free. There was no one manning the hot counter so we started to help ourselves (presuming this was what we had to do) but were then snapped at by a man who seemed to be a chef and told that he was meant to serve us. Some of the hot food had run out so my daughter had to wait about 10 mins for it to be restocked before she could eat. There were also no croissant etc left and when I enquired if there were any more the male member of staff again looked displeased but then asked if we wanted him to cook more. This obviously took a while so it was nearly 10am before they arrived - fresh and hot but undercooked! There was also no compote left to eat with the yogurt which a couple of members of my family would have liked. The female member of staff was lovely and helpful but most of the time there was no staff member in the dining room so any request couldn't be made without a wait for someone to appear (for example requesting a decaff hot drink as there is no provision for this and it required someone to make one in the bar and then bring it through. It was just a bit of a shame that this all made for a slightly stressed breakfast and because we had to wait around for food we were late going back into our room to collect our bags and our access/room keys had been deactivated!Other than this the food was lovely, cooked well and good quality.

Great stay in a stupendous...
Liked: Boggle hole was a little hard to reach late in the evening from Robin Hood’s bay, but the somewhat remote location only adds to the charm of this fantastic place. The facilities were impeccable, and the whole establishment is truly charming.
