The family-run Ye Olde Fighting Cocks is set beside the Kent estuary in the picturesque village of Arnside officially named an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The beer garden features views of the Lake District's mountains and the estuary as well as offering free on-site parking. Most of the bedrooms offer views across the Kent estuary and the mountains within the Lake District. The Fighting Cocks' on-site bar features a wood-burning fireplace and offers a variety of traditional beers lagers and wines. There are 2 on-site restaurants serving traditional home-cooked food. There is a Sky/BT Sports area showing live action. Arnside Rail Station is just 1148 feet from the property and junction 35 of the M6 is less than 8 miles away. An enjoyable stop over between...

Liked: Great room. Very enjoyable roast on Sunday night. Great breakfast. Friendly efficient service.

Great location, underwhelming room

Disliked: Room and bathroom a but tired, bit pricey, but still a sensible choice if you're in the area

Lovely stay - early breakfast!

Liked: Lovely friendly professional staff, perfect location and value for money.
Disliked: Missed breakfast as we didn't realise it finished at 9am! Only seved 8-9 which is very unusual. Called to check at 09:10am and we'd missed it. Very early finish time for a Saturday. So slightly disappointed this wasn't mentioned at check in.Beds are very firm - I prefer softer beds, but this is just personal preference. And room walls are quite thin so can almost hear conversation in the next room. Despite the above would stay again due to the lovely staff and location.

Liked: Location of the property is really good and very accessible for the train station. Parking available in the rear of the property. All staff very accommodating and friendly
