Superb

Would definitely stay again, would...

Liked: Very Clean and the staff were fantastic!!
Disliked: The food was “ok” dinner was saved by the waitress who was hilarious and kept our drinks topped up and us entertained, there was a lack of passion in the food or temperature.In the morning hot plates didn’t keep the breakfast warm let alone hot.

Liked: Room was very nice, clean, comfortable
Disliked: Asked for oat milk in the room, not there so rang and asked for it, told they don’t offer “that kind of milk” even though when I book I was told I could have it. Then someone appeared at the door with it! Ordered vegan sausages, had them for the first morning, but the hotel didn’t get them in for the second morning so went without. Breakfast needs labelling with what is in the food, such as are the mushrooms cooked in diary? Are the cereals vegan? Was told I could have most of the breakfast which was not true.

Liked: We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on this area. The staff were friendly and accommodating
Disliked: Room 203 in the attic was completely airless and made for a very uncomfortable stay. I am an owner of a number of holiday accommodations myself and I would suggest the hotel looks into small A/C units for the attic rooms as they just don't get any breeze in from the tiny windows. Very helpful staff said that they could arrange the locks to be taken off the window so we would then open it more than the allocated few inches. This was really helpful and appreciated but it sadly did not make much difference. It is just completely airless. If we came back again we would ask not to stay in one of these rooms.

Lovely stay the Manager and...

Liked: Beautiful location we were attending a Wedding at the hotel which was lovely.
Disliked: Could have done with lids on the self service hot breakfast selection. The bacon was very dry and the other food not that hot. Apart from that the selection was very good.

Lovely way to Celebrate our...

Liked: Set in lovely surroundings, beautiful old building and close to Eden Project, perfect to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary, our room was excellent with everything we needed, great decor and large bathroom, own patio area outside and lovely views. Used swimming pool which was very easy to book. Breakfast very good.
Disliked: The only downside to our stay was there was a wedding taking place when we arrived so we were unable to get lunch while waiting for our room to be ready.

Grand entrance but the rooms...

Disliked: The rooms. Photos on Booking.com of the rooms were misleading. There were exposed consumer units, lots of spider webs and budget furniture.

Disappointing

Liked: The location was wonderful and the building was impressive
Disliked: The evening meal food was bland There is no lift to the first or second floor rooms Breakfast was buffet style but not kept warm so all was tepid/cold not an ideal situation for a full English

Liked: Lovely room, Good breakfast, Nice swimming pool, Sauna & stam room. Lovely location. Friendly staff
Disliked: Some training to younger staff needed - greet poeople with "Hello, "good morning" etc, Look at us when you speak to us. Speak at an audible volume.
