Santa Monica is always a...
Liked: Very comfortable bed, with a large room. Nice bathroom. Very clean open reception . Not the cheapest place to stay but worth it for the convenience of having everything at the door.
Disliked: Perhaps a revamp in the floors leading to the rooms

Overall, the location was nice...
Liked: The staff were great! The location of the hotel is fantastic! We enjoyed the security and felt safe. You have to swipe your room key to get into the elevator which was nice to see and every hotel should have this. If you want to be right by the pier this is the place to be. The view from our room was fantastic!
Disliked: The bed wasn't the most comfortable. There were no chairs for the beach. Maybe if chairs aren't an option, the hotel could provide nice beach blankets or big towels. Also the pool is right beside the highway. It was nice but sometimes was interrupted by the loud honking from the highway. There is a lot of homeless people sitting right outside the hotel. It didn't bother me but might bother others.

Great location, few improvements needed...
Liked: Good standard for its rating and price although a little on the pricey side considering no fridge or complimentary water in the room. You have bottles of Vose at $8 but who wants to pay that for warm water. Great location, right on Santa Monica pier and having been all over LA during our stay would recommend this area. Lots of homeless people pretty much everywhere you go but they don't bother you and we never felt unsafe once. Plenty of bars and restaurants close by and good shopping. Nice common parts and the reception area always smelt amazing!
Would stay again despite the not so good points.
Disliked: Parking is expensive and really think hotels should offer free parking for customers or at least at competitive rates, we had to keep parking away at $27 a day rather than their $47 and was right across the road. Air con wasn't overly effective and loud so had to turn off before it could cool you down. Also the only way to access the pool area is walking through a car park which we found very odd and off putting, plus it's right on the interstate so traffic is constant and loud so we never bothered using it.
