Wyndham Resort Torquay

A perfect holiday resort for...

Liked: Love the resorts look & feel, as it makes you feel like you are in a mini-Fiji resort, with its beautiful pool & spa with palms and well-maintained grounds. Having the Beach & beach cafe just across the road & the strip of shops a 2min drive / 20min walk away, makes it the perfect location. Going as family with kids, it's perfect, as has both outdoor & indoor pools, awesome spa (outdoor) for us adults, gaming room fun for kids with bonus billiard & table tennis for all, and even a photo booth to capture the moment memories.The 1 bedroom apartment we had, was a great size, with TV's in both lounge & bedroom, a nice large shower and kitchen good size too.
Disliked: During winter, the restaurant is understandably not open, however it would be great on Long Weekends to consider opening. There is a small cafe stand at reception however for coffee's (when machine not broken down), and small snacks etc.The bed in our apartment was not the most comfortable, and the Sofa bed you definitely need a couple layers under you, to make it comfy for sleep, as the springs do dig into you. Having only 1 blanket in the room esp for winter not ideal, as do need more, if you don't like sleeping with heater on high all night. Plenty of other linen & towels however to suit 4 in the 1 bedroom suit w sofa bed use.Lastly, the emergency Fire Alarm, the few 2 times we have stayed in different times of year, does go off often. In all the instances, it's been the morning (not the best for waking up to!!), and stating "This is not a test, please Evacuate" !!.To then be cancelled after 5-10mins. Usually due to toasts setting off the smoke alarms. We got use to it, but the 1st time, it was scary, not knowing. You can never be too careful though, so each time, we would take seriously.

Disliked: The indoor swimming pool its to deep for someone small or not good swimming, its better 1.60 mt in some area of the swimming pool, we’re more people enjoying the pool.

Liked: The facilities especially the indoor pool and the spa.
Disliked: Nothing, everything was exceptional.
