Wyndham Garden Chinatown

We attended an event at The Bowery and stayed here at the Wyndham Garden. It was nice and close. The hotel staff were very helpful. Great hotel. I would stay here again.

Liked: The staff is friendly, bed was comfortable, and view was nice from the 9th floor.
Disliked: The room was much smaller than advertised online and overpriced for our two-night stay. The elevators malfunction - you have to hold buttons down to make them work. Signage is terrible: the breakfast room is labeled "restroom" and there are no directions to the restaurant. I wasted 15 minutes asking staff to find the restaurant for my food pickup.Poor maintenance and misleading photos make this property not worth the premium price.

AC issues made the room...

Liked: I liked the location
Disliked: When we first got to our room the temperature was set to 80 degrees. We changed it to cool to 69 and left - after being out all day we came back and the temperature showed 77. It was so hot in the room especially since we just came in from a hot summer day in the city. We told the front desk and they said multiple people had complained but an engineer wasn’t available until the next day; they gave us a small standing fan for the night. The next day we ran into the engineer and told him about our room but when we came back at the end of the day it was still 77 degrees and they added another stronger and louder fan to the room lol. We couldn’t sleep with the fan on since it was so loud. There was also some weird occasional scraping metal noise from the AC that woke us up. We mentioned the warm temperature in the room again to the front desk but they said the engineer looked at it and said the airflow was okay. Paid almost $200 per night to stay here for a small room with broken / poor AC issues. Won’t be staying here again.

Mixed Experience with Service Issues

Liked: The Wyndham Garden Chinatown boasts a central location with excellent accessibility, offering good value for money. Our rooms were comfortable, featuring a cozy bed and a modern, clean bathroom. The breakfast was basic, but adequate, with helpful staff.
Disliked: However, our stay was significantly marred by a lack of care and a failure to resolve issues on the hotel's part.We had reserved two double rooms, one of which was specifically requested with an extra bed. Upon arrival, the extra bed was not in the room. We were informed that its availability had never been confirmed during the booking process. My conversation with the front desk attendant was surreal. When I asked if someone in my party would have to sleep on the floor, her response was that it wasn't their problem as the extra bed was never confirmed.Ultimately, they did provide an extra bed, but not for the entirety of our stay. As a result, my daughter had to sleep on the floor for two nights, despite the manager assuring us the situation would be resolved. This oversight significantly impacted our experience and comfort.
