Beautiful to look at from...
Liked: The grounds were stunning and well maintained with beautiful views.
Disliked: The room was old, dingy and had a musty smell. Felt like I was staying in the Faulty Towers hotel. Not worth the money paid to stay. With the understanding that the building is old, parts of it are currently being refurbished, these areas should be the only available to book to stay, as the rest of the building clearly needs maintenance. Unfortunate, as the staff on reception were very accommodating and friendly.

Very enjoyable stay.
Liked: The ground and the views are great with good walks. I loved the ducks wandering around and perfectly at home with the people.
Disliked: The property was dated in terms of the bedrooms and interior and lacking the feminine softening touch (fabrics, flowers, colour schemes, furniture, etc.). Significant investment needed to bring the interiors and bedrooms and common areas up to modern hotel standards. If done it could be stunning and a very sought after location. You have to be prepared to accept it as it is, beautiful yet quirky. I was in an accessible room, the entry from rear was not very accessible given the cobblestone yard and narrow passages inside needing to be encountered. But I would say ultimately it was worth it.
