World Golf Village Renaissance by Marriott St. Augustine Resort

An excellent hotel. We enjoyed the World Golf Hall of Fame we wiil be back next year!

My stay...

Liked: The resort was beautiful. The restaurant had wonderful food. The pool was awesome
Disliked: I was not happy with my room. I booked a room with a balcony when I made the reservation. I did not get a room with a balcony and I was on the top floor. (9th) it was hot in my room

Dissaponting

Liked: The location was convenient for the intended trip.
Disliked: I made a reservation weeks in advance and upon my check in, I was informed they did not have a room with double beds for me and my family. We had traveled 5 hours from the state of Georgia and did not have adquate and ample accodations for a family of four. They were able to give us a room that was (ADA) with one bed and they provided two roll away beds to accomodate the size of our family. I asked for them to adjust my pricing and was met with, "We have no managers on site but you can speak with one in the morning)." They provided a food voucher as a compensation though we were already scheduled to eat for a family event. We used the voucher so it wouldn't go to waste. The room itself was small and having two roll aways did not help with comfort and movement around the room. The ADA shower floor was filthy. We had to throw down a towel to step on so we could shower without having to step on the nasty floor. We called and tried to get someone to come and clean it but no one answered the front desk phone and the lines to speak with someone in the check in were so long that we didn't bother. It literally was taking like 30 minutes per guest or family to check in. She kept coming in and out of some back office and took forever to service the patrons. I was so dissapointed as the hotel was recommended by a friend who is a member of their rewards program and had really talked up the franchise. I don't think I will be doing that now. There was a wrestling convention and there were people everywhere. In the evening their were people screaming and talking loudly in the hallways and it made it so hard to sleep. Overall I was dissapointed and most likely won't go back to this hotel.

Disliked: The bathroom with the toilets so low. It was hard for older people to get up and people with knee problems

Liked: Smelled like dead fish in lake- staff was mediocre at best at bar
Disliked: Price ridiculous-smell and staff

Liked: All the staff was amazing most of the time
Disliked: Saturday morning bar tender was not happy about making us a drink or getting us coffee. She seemed very irritated that we asked for those drinks.

Liked: We've stayed here a few years ago. It needed a polishing up then. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be any updating. It's OK for a night's stay over, not really a vacation destination. Can't speak to the gof side of things.
