Woodland Manor Hotel

Bank Holiday weekend

Liked: This is our 4th time staying at Woodland Manor. Would highly recommend this hotel. It ticks all the boxes with regard to cleanliness, friendliness, lovely food and service. Have already booked for next year.

Lovely hotel in great location.

Liked: The Hotel is lovely and ideally located for the festival we had tickets for. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly nothing was a trouble for them and our room was huge. Breakfast was lovely lots of choice and cooked perfectly.
Disliked: Unfortunately our room was on the first floor to the side of the function room so it was very noisy on the Friday night with a party disco and went on until 12.30 am. The following night was a wedding function which although we could hear the music it finished at midnight so not as bad. Having booked in for 5 nights it would have been nice to have been given a quieter room. The other nights were very peaceful.

Disliked: Attention to detail at breakfast. No cups. Low on fruit juice. Fresh coffe rather than machine would be a nice touch. Coffee machine was playing up!couple arrived after us at breakfast got served before us

Good hotel, shame about the...

Liked: Lovely hotel, spacious comfortable clean rooms.
Disliked: We were unlucky. There was a wedding on the night we stayed and our room was on the ground floor. The wedding party were drinking and chatting until 3am outside our window. Being summer we needed the windows open to cool the room. It was therefore very difficult to sleep.

A lovely grand looking hotel...

Liked: A lovely setting, the hotel has a big staircase with stained window which is very stunning. Staff were welcoming and friendly
Disliked: Food was basic for a place like this. Pillows were lumpy and hard. The room was not equipped very well for a women needing to get ready in the morning, no dressing table, not enough lighting etc. The inside of the hotel needs a bit of attention in places such as the toilets downstairs, the bathroom in the bedroom.

Lots of potential but disappointing....

Liked: Lovely evening meal and staff were friendly.
Disliked: Paid for a deluxe room . No sofa as advertised but a single seater arm chair . No booklet advising about the hotel and facilities . Web site says the property occupied 20 odd acres . Couldn’t find that . Temporary manger was unable to help there . Piles of black bin bags and deteriorated furniture in grounds visible. Certain areas looked dumped on and unkept. Bathroom bin stained . No mirror at dressing table . Brown stained bath grout in corners . Difficult to use the key for access . Room was huge - nicely painted but sparse . Web site mention could be some noise - but on one of our two nights was a party . The noise was so load the tea cups and spoons were vibrating on the tray in the room ! That went on past midnight . Web site deceiving - great potential but when we left there were 3 couples checking out - all complaining including us . Temporary manger was doing her best . It is a family run hotel . I will be emailing the owner with this feedback . . .

Superb

Liked: Excellent very large rooms at a reasonable price. Good bar with nice beer and the food was fine.
Disliked: Not much of an atmosphere in the restaurant but the food was tasty.
