Exceptional

totally disappointing and boring stay,...

Liked: good breakfast, you can set the temperature in the room youself, view from 18th floor of the building
Disliked: small windows, it was dark in the room as dark curtains rolled down automatically because it was sunny, totally ruining the view to the lake, so no lake view whatsoever from the room when its sunny, no decoration in the room, my partner and me wanted double room or panoramic room but got twin room instead as all was taken, no additional free activities (no swimming pool, no gym, no ping pong or shuffleboard), making it a boring stay, no kettle in the room, no free coffee/tea in the building, reception had no welcoming atmosphere, no info about how building was built, no place to come and sit else than a room, mirror in the bathroom had some toothpaste on from previous guests, glass from the shower looked like not cleaned for weeks, there was pinky funghi on fugue between shower tiles, definitely not what you expect for the stay that costs over 2000 kr per night. def will not come back and will not recommend.

Underwhelming

Liked: The breakfast was good.Easy in and out from the E6 main road.The park area around the hotel is great for a walk, and in the summer you can enjoy a swim in the lake, or even try some fishing from the shore.
Disliked: The poor rating is more related to the size of the room, which is very small. And for two persons there is basically no places to leave your suitcase. There are no chairs to sit in (except for in front of the very narrow desk). There is just a very basic installation to hang your clothes. A 40 cm bar, with 4 hangers. So, if you stay for several days and bring shirts, suits, dresses etc. - it will not do. No shelves nor drawers to place clothes.The glass wall separating the shower from the rest of the tiny bathroom does not go all the way down to the floor, and is not sealed. There is a gap, so when you shower the bathroom floor gets wet. It is designed like this. Not broken.The Reception is not always staffed. If the self-service check-in and check-out works, the basics are covered. But for further queries you may have to wait a while.I guess the fact that it is a tall wooden tower with views to the lake gives the hotel a certain flair. However, half of the rooms (including the one we got) face the motorway and an industrial park.

Disliked: I paid extra for a room with a view, but then found out that they close an automated curtain when the sun’s out. So you can see out when it’s dark and there’s nothing to see, and most the time when you can see out the curtain’s closed.
