Liked: Room was very comfortable with amazing view. Good to have option of both bath and shower. Spa really nice. Hotel in beautiful setting. Goody bag when we left was really nice gesture
Disliked: Restaurant closed on Monday night so only bar food available. Menu very limited to only burgers, fish n chips, and a couple of pizzas. If it’s the only choice of eating place there should be at least 2 or 3 more dishes. No apple cider! Only a couple of fruit ones. We were astonished and very disappointed as we don’t like beer and have never stayed somewhere where no apple cider is available. This was a big minus point from us.

Lovely hotel & location. Mixed...
Liked: Location amazing. On arrival there was no one at what we guessed to be reception, (there was nothing to indicate it was main reception as opposed to restaurant check-in) after a guest confirmed this was indeed main reception we waited for 5 mins & a gentleman came and checked us in. The room was very comfortable with a lovely view. The food was well presented and good at dinner, although portion size small. One crab ravioli for starter £16.50 & two tiny mussels with a 2 inch square piece of halibut for main course £28.50 (side order of charred cabbage £5). Whilst I understand the concept of quality over quantity, after a long day walking, a little bit larger sized portion would have been appreciated. Service at dinner could have been better. We were seated in the wrong dining room, but after our drinks were served, a waitress asked if we would like to move to the Georgian room where we had originally booked. We decided to just stay put. We asked a couple of questions about the menu, but the young waitress said she was " new so didnt know" We then had the diners to our right food orders brought to our table twice whilst eating! We went into the bar after dinner and discovered many of the drinks on the menu were unavailable. The barman apologised and explained that a big party had been in the night before and the stock hadn't yet been replaced. Again, on arrival for breakfast, there was no one around. After waiting, and looking around for a staff member we decided it was a self-service buffet, as many hotels now are, so sat down at a table and proceeded to serve ourselves juice and breakfast from the buffet. Eventually, a waitress arrived, and we asked if coffee was available. She said yes, and that she would bring us some. Ten minutes later, she came to our table and asked if we would like any tea or coffee?!!Other guests arrived for breakfast after we did and were offered an additional menu.
Disliked: As above.
