Hotel Issues Needing Improvement
Liked: This facility was very nice. It also included a very nice variety of foods for breakfast. My room was clean and accommodating for me and my granddaughter.
Disliked: Upon check-in on Wednesday (9 July), we went to the gym. The equipment is notmaintained to operate properly. The clock on the wall needed batteries.Thursday, (10 July), we went to the pool around 10:30am. The pool was dirty with bugs. We were told the pool person was there on Wednesday and usually came twice a week. The table surfaces were dirty with spills, bird poop, etc. When the female attendant came with Clorox wipes to clean the surfaces, she totally missed the poop on my side of the table. I also asked about umbrellas because of the sun and was told they were ruined in a storm and were not yet replaced. Shortly after the attempt to clean the tables, a staff gentleman came out with two umbrellas for two of the tables.Friday (11 July) we went out after breakfast to do some shopping. Upon our return, one of the beds had been made but not the other. Housekeeping was down the hall and I asked why my granddaughter's bed was not made. I was told she had left a blanket and stuffed animal on the bed and per management, they were not to touch the items to make the bed. Yet, the day before, Housekeeping had made her bed, spread the blanket, and placed her toy on the pillows. I was somewhat livid with the excuse.About an hour later, we were leaving again to do some shopping when we ran into Elaine and the facility manager. Elaine told me "I got you, I'll have towels up to your room in a bit." I responded "no, you don't have me. Why was my granddaughter's bed not made. I went into the whole discussion with Housekeeping. The manager was very apologetic, he asked if there were other problems during my stay. Elaine, the manager, myself and my granddaughter sat and chatted about 30 minutes. I explained all the aforementioned problems. He apologized over and over because that was not how he wanted his facility to be handled. He offered .my granddaughter items from the snack area and he compted my last nite's stay.
