Horribly incompetent hotel

Liked: Room thermostat in Lubbock was on 80 degrees when we entered room. It’s hot outside! Night front desk was surly and lazy. I asked to pull up my rewards account and she gave me excuses not to. I had just spent two nights in Moab at Wingate and they were very helpful.
Disliked: The staff…day and night at registration are completely incompetent in Lubbock. I’ve also been charged double for some reason. I’ll get to argue about that when I have the energy to do it. I asked the day clerk but she wouldn’t help me at all.

Liked: This property in in a great location for me. It is a pretty quiet area, there are services within 1/2 mile.
Disliked: They have the worst pillows.

Liked: The employee working breakfast the two mornings I was there, is the number one reason I didn’t rate this place a complete zero. She was such a great worker! She’s was so kind!
Disliked: I felt the housekeeping staff was a little lazy on the rooms.Upon arrival I was given room 207.I believe we were in the room less than 10 minutes before requesting a new room.The sheets were the first thing that made me start looking around, my husband went to sit down & noticed hair on his pillow and stuff on the sheet. So I started looking for verification that this room was clean from the previous guest and I realized quickly it was not.There was hair on top of the dresser and dust telling me this place wasn’t even wiped down.The toilet was gross, and the toilet paper was left from guest before. (That’s gross)The shower had hair on the walls,The fridge was gross and had stuff spilled in it.Behind the door was a dead roach and dirt.The bench when you first walked into the door was torn and stained and it just didn’t feel welcoming or cleaned at all.The lady at the front desk was super sweet in this moment and gave us a new room directly above it, 307. She said they’d even go check it themselves and verify it’s clean while we gathered our things…Upon arrival the room felt better than the last, but after unpacking our things and beginning to get comfortable we quickly realized this one was just as bad, just not surface level. Under the bed skirt my 6 year old was looking for her tablet, and she found a thc vape. My husband disposed of it in the laundry bag given in the closet, smashed it in the bag and placed it in the trash cans proved outside of the elevator.There was also hair in the shower and the conditioner they provide was empty.Our room had the sofa couch, so we requested sheets and blankets for the mattress only to be left with our son sleeping on the actual sofa because the sheets they provided had blood stains and the mattress itself was split in half with springs popping out.Overall it was just not a clean stay.I wouldn’t recommend again, but for the price and the convenience Lubbock offers with hotels, you kind of get what you get.

Disliked: The door to my room didn’t close properly, I had to pull on it to shut it. The exit door on the south side was difficult to open as well
