Wingate by Wyndham Fletcher at Asheville Airport

Fluffy pillows, spa linens, steamy hot showers, warm cookies, cheerful front desk, creamy eggs, crusty biscuits, door to door van service to the Mother Earth News Fair - what's not to love? Would return and definitely recommend.

Looking for different hotel for...

Disliked: Our room had been smoked in although it is a no smoking facility. The front desk said they would give us an air freshener, I thought it would be a purifier which is why I didn’t ask for a different room; however, it was a Glade plugin air freshener!! There wasn’t a phone in the room and when I told the front desk the lady said she didn’t know what happened to the room but never gave us a phone. There wasn’t a remote for one of the TVs. When I turned on the water for the shower and switched it to the shower, water spewed out of the knob to push in for switch to shower. The water spewing was getting hot but not the water coming out of the shower. At this point, I was tired of telling the front desk about another thing that was missing/broken/etc. when we went to the pool/ jacuzzi area, there was a strong smell of smoke in the hallway. There were no towels in the pool area. When we went to the hot tub, it wasn’t even tepid. The pool was actually warmer than the hot tub. I tried to notify a worker and she could not understand me. She did get someone from the front desk. We chose late checkout the next day, Sunday, to swim and get in the hot tub. The hot tub was still cold and a swimming school for kids rented out the pool. The teacher kept looking at us like we didn’t belong and looked nervous for us being there. We couldn’t use the deep end fully and had to swim around the kids as they moved around the deep end. It was uncomfortable with the parents watching us too.We have come here for the past 4 years and are looking for a different hotel to stay at when we come to Fletcher, NC. I don’t know what has changed; cleaning staff, handyman, etc. but it isn’t for the better. The front desk staff were nice and listened but our issues weren’t addressed appropriately.

Disliked: There was no hot water in the morning when I tried to shower.

Comfy beds, but it has...

Disliked: There was a weird smell when you walked through the hotel and our room had weird bugs all through it. If we had not spent our hotel funds we would have moved because we were pretty sure they were bedbugs.

I liked it... great coffee...

Liked: Good, but laundry room had washer that would not stop rinse spin and dryer that would not stop drying on time. They were old and need replacing in my opinion.

Liked: Everyone was wonderful and courteous. We love staying at wyndham. We will be back in September
