The Spotlight on Windrifter Resort

Peaceful Lakeside Escape with Comfort and Convenience

Modern comfort meets natural charm at Windrifter Resort, a laid-back and well-equipped stay located in scenic Wolfeboro, NH. Nestled near Lake Winnipesaukee and just a short drive from popular concert venues in Laconia and Weirs Beach, this resort offers a relaxing atmosphere with plenty of on-site amenities to recharge after a big night out.

Why Concert-goers love it

Windrifter Resort is ideal for fans looking to mix music and mountain-lake serenity. With Laconia and Weirs Beach less than 30 miles away, getting to shows is easy by car—and the quiet surroundings make it perfect for winding down after. The resort’s late check-in (from 4:00 PM) gives you flexibility, and features like free WiFi, a sauna, and indoor pool make post-concert recovery feel like a retreat.

Who this Hotel is great for

  • Groups of friends looking for space to relax and play
  • Solo travelers catching a bucket-list gig
  • Couples making a romantic weekend of it
  • Fans wanting a quieter post-concert recovery space
  • Budget-conscious music lovers who still want amenities

Food and Drink Options

While there’s no on-site restaurant, Windrifter’s location means you’re just minutes from local cafés, pubs, and lakeside dining. Several eateries stay open late during concert nights, and many rooms include kitchenettes or patios—perfect for quick bites or a DIY breakfast the next day.

Nightlife Options

You won’t find a buzzing club scene here, but that’s part of the charm. Nearby Wolfeboro has several laid-back bars and local taverns, some with live acoustic sets or open mic nights. For more action, it’s an easy drive to nightlife hubs in Laconia and Weirs Beach.

What People Say

Guests love the clean, spacious rooms, the friendly staff, and the bonus amenities like the sauna and indoor pool. Many call it a great value for the area, especially for those who want to relax in nature between events. The resort vibe is low-key and welcoming, with activities like billiards and tennis adding to the appeal.

Areas for Improvement

A few guests mention that the décor is a bit dated in some rooms, and there’s no on-site restaurant or bar—which might be a drawback for those wanting a full-service resort feel. Also, check-out is at 10:00 AM, which can feel early after a late night, though the staff try to be accommodating when possible.

The Bottom Line

If you’re heading to a concert in the Lakes Region and want a peaceful, affordable, and well-equipped base, Windrifter Resort is a solid pick.

They’ve embraced the old in...

Disliked: There wasn’t any housekeeping. You throw your towels out the door and ask at the front desk for more. Major water stain above my bed. Moldy caulking around my tub they wouldn’t repair until after. Ac in kitchen window, none in bedroom.

Crappy

Liked: It was ok this time — not as good as the yacht club location
Disliked: there was a fire alarm that went off at 10:30pm at night. It lasted for over an hour. We all had to stand outside for over an hour. There was nothing wrong and no fire — just a faulty system. The staff never once apologised for the incident and didn’t offer a slightly later checkout given that everyone was woken up and spent over an hour outside. It would have been basic common sense to say they were at least sorry for the situation.Nothing — The person checking us out was actually a bit snide and said in a snotty way to ‘drive safe and have a nice day’ We were shocked —

Convenient location, spacious room with...

Liked: We really liked the little kitchen with full fridge, stove, oven. Well stocked with cooking items, utensils, plates, etc! Also enjoyed the view of the golf course. Big spacious room with 2 pull out sofas and a table and chairs!
Disliked: The bathroom - in need of updating. Drain plug in sink was stuck closed and had to take it out completely. The rubber mat stuck onto the floor of the tub (literally could not be removed) made me cringe.
