Liked: Excellent location, fabulous hotel, exceptional staff but food did let it down. Breakfast, which was included in our deal was really good. We chose to eat in the hotel one night and we were disappointed. Food was very average and not as good as we expected.
Disliked: Nothing - maybe crossing the road from the annexe to the hotel - this could be a nightmare in the summer months

Liked: The facilities and location were great.
Disliked: We were booked into the attic room number 56 in the Windermere Rooms. My wife and I are in our 70s and suffer from osteoarthritis in our knee joints.Had we known we would have to carry luggage and climb up 32 stairs we would not have booked. Even the layout of the stairs were difficult to negotiate.The accommodation is lovely but not disability friendly.

Liked: A nice location, and the water edge inn is lovely. The room was comfy and cosy. Only stayed here one night.
Disliked: We paid £150 for one night outside of school holidays for room and breakfast but the room was really small, not in the centre of ambleside, and ever so noisy - we could hear the busy road, and all 3 neighbours coming and going, someone snoring next door. It was fine it just wasn't £150 worth of fine I guess!

Liked: The service was excellent, the room was big and clean and felt really private, and the breakfast was top notch.

Liked: Its location was excellent. The breakfast was great and the staff were lovely.
Disliked: The walls were thin…a dog barked consistently in an adjacent room all night waking us up and you could hear the person next door snoring.
