A well-located hotel, very beautiful...

Liked: The hotel was well-situated, with a good breakfast, and we appreciated having a swim after a long day of walking and cycling. The staff was very nice, and helpful when we had queries. Location is great.
Disliked: We were in the cottages and they could use some TLC. The wet room water levels raised very quickly so if you showered, your feet were wet, and the door was quite corroded from water. The shower curtain was quite mucky. The sofa in the room was quite hard, and did smell a bit as if dogs had been using it to sleep on. There was no coffee table, so when we got a takeaway, there was no place to put it. The bed is two twins bolted together with quite a big gap, not great for snuggling as someone is in the gap.Nothing horrible but just felt like it needed some care and attention to detail.

Great hotel. Convenient location. Good...

Liked: The price was great for the location. The view from the room was an unexpected bonus. Ample amount of parking. And all the staff were very friendly.
Disliked: The whole experience was great. I can't complain.

Liked: Location, grounds were immaculate and the staff were very helpful, professional
Disliked: It has do much potential, but is tired looking and whilst the room was warm the lounge and bar area was freezing to the extent were we left out evening meal. Heating wasn’t even on and it was a very cold night.

Winter break

Liked: We found the hotel and food very good and the staff couldn't do enough to help us especially Lauren will definitely be back

Not great and will not...

Liked: The location close to the lake was the only good thing
Disliked: Breakfast was bad, there were no much options for the full English breakfast. There were no fried eggs, mushroom, black pudding etc. The containers which breakfast were kept were broken. Someone opened our room when it was put as not cleaning required.Bath robes gave out a smell of cigarette smoke.Bathroom didn’t have a mat or gripped tiles which caused slippage.Coffee pod machine in the room wasn’t connected and there was no additional plug point for it.There were cobwebs on the corners and on the lights.TV stand was broken and couldn’t see properly from the bed.Wardrobe hanger broke twice due to loose fittings.Dinner:Ordered dirty fries- chef had no idea what dirty fries were. It came with fries with mozzarella cheese and fresh onion and cucumber sprinkled on it.Staff- shortage of waiters in the restaurant, had to wait 15-30 minutes before we were attended to.
