Awful hotel

Liked: Nothing
Disliked: Dirty. Run down, in need of total refurbishment. No lift, broken when we arrived and still broken a week later. Breakfast was awful. Couldn’t have breakfast at my chosen time because restaurant was booked for coach parties so couldn’t eat until 9am. £6 per day to park total rip off. Considering what we paid per night it should’ve been free. Bar shut at 9pm? Told there was another bar but to get to it had to go out in the rain and walk 50 yards. That bar was equally run down. Some staff were just plain rude. Some of the Breakfast staff were OK but generally seemed miserable all the time.

Disliked: Food not too good, although adequate. No entertainment. Lift not working.

Disliked: The lift we booked a superior room which was brilliant then the lift broke down again so the lady at the desk offered if another room on. The ground floor,as my has just had a big operation ,which wasn't anywhere a good as the superior room,but we took it so my husband could get around,wasn't impressed with the lift not working for a full week

Liked: The breakfast and location
Disliked: The standard of finish in the room was terrible. Dirty radiators, mouldy window frames, every wall had marks, multiple paint chips on the doors, bath panel needed replaced, bathroom shelf needed replaced, worn carpets, water stains on ceiling around windows, we payed extra for a superior room, god knows what a standard is like, unacceptable in all respects.

Good on the whole but...

Liked: All the staff were very attentive and caring. There was plenty of choice for the evening meals and we couldn’t find fault with the food. Plenty of variety at breakfast too.
Disliked: When we arrived at the hotel we were told that the lift was out of actio but it was hoped that it would be repaired that day. However, the lift didn’t work for the length of our stay. My husband and I are not particularly nimble so it was quite an inconvenience having to use the stairs all the time. Fortunately we were on the first floor which we just about coped with. In fairness, we were offered a ground floor room but we had booked a room with a Lake view and this would not have met our requirements.
