Disappointed visitor

Liked: Staff were lovely, really helpful and cheerful, couldn't do enough for us. Brilliantly situated on the High Street convenient for shops and bars.
Disliked: Bathroom shower was disgustingly unclean with dirt and hair in shower tray, breakfast was nice but not a very good range of anything really. The bedroom was above the bar and no sleep at all was had until about half 12 due to the exceptionally loud music vibrating through the floor from the bar below and drinkers sitting outside shouting and laughing. Was so bad we booked out after one night and booked into another quieter hotel for the second night. Very disappointing for the price we paid !!!☹☹☹ would not stop here again.

Liked: Lovely character property right in Maldon high street. Nice vibe in the pub and the staff were lovely. Comfy beds and pillows, nice fresh clean room. Scrambled eggs were delicious.

Reasonable hotel but having read...

Liked: The room was clean and well equipped. Large public car park at rear of hotel.
Disliked: Very noisy. My room (No.1) was next to the night entrance / staff entrance which has a slam shut lock. On the night I stayed the bar and main entrance was closed early so the night entrance was used until very late creating a lot of noise and making it difficult to sleep. Staff used the entrance early morning so more loud door slamming. Draymen arrived at 07:15 delivering beer barrels and kegs. Room No.1 adjacent to alleyway where beer is delivered - exceptionally noisy.

Bit disappointing

Liked: Hot bath tap broken.mouldy tiles in bathroom. Dirty tea cups .off milk in coffee in the morning
Disliked: Comfy bed...good pub and a good lunch..pricey drink wine and beer £16
