Great hotel in perfect location
Liked: Beautiful refurb of old pub. Lovely rooms, comfortable beds. Attentive and professional staff looked after us well.
Disliked: No air conditioning on a very hot night. Fans are supplied which helps a lot. Rooms on the ground floor much cooler than those on first and second floors.

Excellent quality stay only dampened...
Liked: A recent and impressive refit on the whole beachfront hotel/pub offering high quality rooms and furniture. Would have preferred a sea view with outside balconies which looked wonderful but fully booked - although our cozy double room was fantastic value, comfortable and extremely spacious. Daily fresh milk served to the door, although a small fridge wouldn't go amiss for both the milk and the two glass bottles of water (not sealed) as there was no way of knowing how long the water had been inside !Front desk / reception staff worth mentioning for their extremely welcoming, helpfulness and friendly approach. Brilliant hot breakfast ...cooked to perfection and accompanied by a good continental selection and attentive staff service.Free 24hr car parking system which allowed us plenty of time to explore the area after checking out.Chose a DBB package which was excellent value.
Disliked: Overall stay only really dampened by our dinner experience. Evening staff sadly lacking in experience and customer focus (other reviews seem to have this general theme but clearly no improvement). At least four staff serving but a bit left hand/right hand approach in respect of their communication (Example- we had already eaten our starters, when approached by one of the staff with menus asking if we would like to order and choose something from the menu).Table of x8 sat next to us had an embarrassing long wait for their food, whilst watching others, who had arrived at their tables much later, being served around them. In addition, the 10oz Rib Eye steak (Medium/rare) at £36, was poorly cooked and a tough eat with excessive fat throughout the steak - most of which was left on the plate which attracted the staff member to ask "Did you enjoy the meal". We responded No ...and she simply said "I'm sorry about that".....finally have to mention the pillows - Disappointed by the quality of pillows for such a high quality room.

Very good overall.
Liked: Excellent room and bathroom and bath in the room itself - Suite
Disliked: No coffee/drinks facility in the room. At this price point a coffee maker/kettle is to be expected.

Decent cozy hotel near the...
Liked: Good location, friendly receptionist, clean and well kept hotel.
Disliked: Lack of adequate cooling system / decent fan for the room. Hotels tower fan unit wasn’t that strong but we brought our own additional fans so managed to cool off during heatwave night.Google maps says hotel kitchen closes at 9pm and we arrived at 8pm and was told it closes at 8pm.Google needs updating I guess. We followed the kind advice from receptionist and we found a really good seafood restaurant in Brighton called Riddle and Finn. Amazing lobsters and oysters!Other than this everything was great and would come again but in a cooler climate.
