Liked: Clean Comfy space Easy check-in Good Breakfast Central location but still quiet overnight

Liked: Fabulous top room, very comfortable bed, nice clean, crisp linen.Breakfast was really good.Staff were very friendly and smiley 😀

Disappointing room

Liked: Location was great
Disliked: The room we stayed in had 2 velux windows with no window coverings so when the light broke through at 4am we were awake from that point as the light was bouncing in. Very hot room with no fan

Breakfast couldn't make up for...

Liked: Comfy bed, great location and breakfast was decent
Disliked: We'd spent a couple of nights in York before this where other than checking in we didn't have to speak to staff as everything we needed was in the room. This was the complete opposite, felt like criminal at worst and a pest at best. Had to ask for iron, hairdryer which burned out after 2 minutes, milk which was given fresh in a bottle but there was no fridge. The room was stifling so had to ask for a fan which we had to leave on permanently. You get 3 hangers, one snapped in half putting a t shirt on it. The bathroom door didn''t shut and there was dirt in the bath.

Enjoyed central location

Liked: Lovely central location staff very friendly and accommodating, lovely breakfast
Disliked: Rooms very hot sash window could only open small amount and no fan in room, also pillows were very hard am uncomfortable, didn’t make for a good nights sleep

Lovely stay at WH&G

Liked: Love the hotel and location, food was great too
Disliked: I can see why you don't provide packs of milk as it's single use plastic but it was a bit of a pain having to come down 3 flights of stairs for fresh milk and it was so hot it was hard to keep the milk fresh in the room

Liked: Central location and the history
Disliked: It wasn’t very customer friendly. The bed wasn’t made once, toiletries were not replaced even though staff had been in the room. The bed was very uncomfortable, we had to change the mattress round. The window was wedged open with a bit of wood. The milk for tea was in a bottle with no way of keeping it cool. Some of the staff were abrupt
