nice character hotel. good food,...

Liked: excellent location close to town centre and shops, v nice breakfast, lot of character to the hotel. Really good menu with good food choices. The cleaner Phil was friendly and works hard
Disliked: the room was a little cramped, but we knew this when we booked. unfortunately on first two nights we had very noisy people in adjacent/ near by rooms, slamming doors at 2am and arguing loudly at 4am, but this can happen anywhere and is no reflection on the hotel. at times breakfast staff were over fussy on seating arrangements i.e. "you cant sit there we get lots of walk ins.".......8am in morning no one else came in while we were dining

Enjoyed the hotel once recovered...

Liked: Central location Clean, comfy roomQuirkyVery nice breakfast
Disliked: Guests should be made aware of the number of stairs to the rooms in this hotel. We stayed in the Chris Bonnington suite. Not named because he stayed there but because you needed mountaineering equipment to climb the stairs, with luggage to get to the room. Guests should be advised of this prior to booking

Nice and clean and great...

Liked: Good location and nice that there was a place to have your breakfast in the morning. Nice that there was a place to have a drink at night if you wanted to.
Disliked: Our room was at the front of the building so we heard the kegs being delivered early in the morning which woke us up.

Expected better

Liked: The family room needs loads of little jobs completing on it. Expected better.
Disliked: No children breakfast options. We had to take our own cereal down as the only option for a 4 year old was porridge.

Little Gem

Liked: Location is perfect, right in the centre of Whitby. Staff were all friendly. Breakfast was absolutely delicious, with plenty to choose from. We booked a table for Sunday lunch . Service and staff were excellent. The meal was fantastic, everything was cooked to perfection, I would definitely recommend booking for lunch. Rooms are spotless, and we had a lovely big room with a large bathroom. Really quirky.Already booked to return next year.
