Liked: We chose this accommodation,at short notice, because of the location to the wedding venue where we were attending a wedding. The beds were comfortable and there was ample hot water for the showers. Those within our party who had a cooked breakfast rated the breakfast substantial and good.
Disliked: The surroundings of the pub were untidy and run down. The rooms were tidy but cleanliness was lacking around door handles, bedside tables. There were no places to hang towels, no toilet roll holder, no place to hold shower utensils such as soap, flannel or shampoo in the shower. In room no. 7 the skylight in the high ceiling had no blind, when I enquired how to cover the window the reply was sorry there was nothing they could do. Also, no.7 had a deep throbbing hum from the bouncy castle which we were told would be turned off at 9pm which thankfully happened. The rooms lacked ventilation.

Liked: had a wonderful stay at The White Hart Inn in the beautiful Forest of Dean. The friendly staff made me feel incredibly welcome from the moment I arrived. And the breakfast? Simply outstanding! A perfect start to each day. I'd definitely return.
Disliked: My only slight note would be that the room furniture felt like it was in the way, it had a massive sofa and cupboards that felt out of place.

Would definitely stay again if...

Liked: Lovely staff and nice food
Disliked: Very creaky bed

Disappointing

Liked: People were great, barman fantastic couldn't have done more. Food ok. Village pub for the people. Hopefully the future is better.
Disliked: The window is unable to open due to not being on a window frame . Being the hottest evening with no ventilation or widow, at the top of the pub after the pub being full was unbearable. It's what it is a pub with rooms, not deluxe. Pictures on line are older ones.

I would recommend it and...

Liked: The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was exceptional. The room was spacious and cool in the high temperatures outside with a fan provided but we didn't need it. (Room 2) Breakfast was fantastic!
Disliked: The exterior of the building says nothing about the excellent service inside. Clearly in need of some TLC outside but this may already be planned once income has reached a certain level!:If I lived in Cinderford I would come and weed the patio area especially by the entrance and see to the trough shaped plant holders on the front wall.Dealing with the plaster and painting the front, (white or cream) adding letters to The White Har NN and painting the wooden railings around the patio (soft sage green) would greatly enhance the building an curb appeal but I'm sure they are aware of this. If it was me I would put a sign out saying external refurbishment is going to be undertaken

Liked: Very welcoming staff. Lovely quiet room on the top floor. Fantastic well cooked filling breakfast
Disliked: Dust on the headboard of the bed

Disliked: Alittle bit of traffic noise as room by road but can’t be helped in that situation and didn’t stop our sleep , which bed was so comfy

Liked: Not much really. The staff - barman - was pleasant and efficient.
Disliked: Very down-at-heel, tired looking facility. Drinkers in bar mid-afternoon that looked like they'd been there since lunchtime and were set in until late night. Dim attic room, only window was a broken shaded Velux well out of reach; crumpled linen, strange smell. Felt 'icky'.We left.
