It was fairly comfortable

Liked: Basically I had almost everything I needed
Disliked: In case of fire starting from the bar or kitchen, all guests are most likely to perish as there is only one fire escape route, the entrance to the rooms. The shower drainage was compromised, I had to stop before finishing as it was about to overflow. The television had no remote control

Liked: The inn looked fairly pleasant from the os and at the bar.
Disliked: After paying for my stay at the bar; which wasn’t expensive; I was directed to the double room upstairs. Believe it was room 6. The room was very basic rather than the deluxe description given. It was musty without an opening window and hadn’t been well cleaned. Coffee cup rings on the bedside table and half a packet of sweets in a drawer. The bed linen had seen better days. The en-suite appeared ok.

Liked: Friendly staff, family run property. Food was amazing, huge portions & the full English breakfast was delicious. Bathroom immaculately clean, we had the deluxe room & the shower was massive. Great location for visiting the Forest of Dean.

Pleasant enough stay, nothing to...

Liked: Breakfast was excellent. Couldn't fault it.
Disliked: The room was called "Kings deluxe suite ' or something, but apparently they're all called that. It had no window, apart from a very high velux one and was quite small, considering the naming.

A great place to stay

Liked: A friendly welcome with accommodating staff and good facilities. The room was lovely, clean and spacious. I enjoyed an evening meal at the venue which was really nice and just what I needed after travelling. The room was very comfortable with a fan available and complimentary bathroom products. The breakfast was really nice and very filling comprising of a full English along with cereal, fruit and yoghurt choices.
Disliked: All fine on this ocassion.

Disliked: The whole place is tired and dirty. Thick grime all the way up the stairs on the skirting boards.Outside was dirty and the carpark full of large potholes.We refused to stay and reported it to Booking.comI am surprised that Booking.com recommend this property

Disliked: The outside space was untidy but I was informed by the owner that is something that will be rectified in time, it didn’t spoil my stay as they say “don’t judge a book by its cover”
