Nice to see this hotel...

Liked: Room was fine and comfortable. |Location excellent for a visit to Glyndebourne. I think in your publicity the location should be described as 'enviable' rather than 'envious' ! Decent breakfast.
Disliked: We chose the hotel for its convenience for Glyndebourne, but arriving early afternoon, our room was nor ready before 3.00 pm, when the shuttle buses leave the station for Glyndebourne. So there was nowhere for us to change before catching the bus, and we had to use the disabled lavatory to do so. Not a comfortable experience. Since during the opera season there must be many like us who use the hotel, it would be helpful either if their rooms could be ready earlier, or a special changing room could be made available. We could only access our room on return from the opera towards 11.00 pm.

Liked: Well located, lovely historic building, comfortable bedroom.

A very nice stay, apart...

Liked: The hotel is in a great location in the centre of Lewes and is attractively decorated. The breakfast was good and the staff were friendly and helpful. It is also dog friendly - dogs receive a welcome pack and a dog bed is provided.
Disliked: We stayed during hot weather. When we arrived, the room, which was on the top floor, was extremely hot - too hot to sleep in, especially for older people, anyone with a health issue, or young children. We asked if we could have a cooler room - the manager was very helpful and found us a room on the floor below. It would be good if the staff could check the room beforehand, perhaps even using a thermometer, to make sure that it is OK for guests to sleep in.

Liked: Lovely touches eg the treats in the room. Great furnishings and a lot of character. The breakfast was delicious.
Disliked: It didn’t have air con but they did provide a fan given it was a heatwave.

Lovely old building that has...

Liked: Lovely old building that has been expertly converted to accommodate guests. Staff were extremely attentive, particularly towards the four legged companions! Restaurant was excellent for both dinner and breakfast. Highly recommended.
