Liked: Friendly and helpful owners, great breakfast. Room was fine, and as expected, if a little compact to spend much time in (but that’s not really why you go to the Lake District).
Disliked: Bed was a little soft for me.

Cosy B&B in the heart...

Liked: I loved my little annex. The bed was super comfortable and having a mini fridge allowed me to make sandwiches for my walks. Friendly owner and Thomas the cat. Lovely breakfast too. All in all a great value stay in the heart of the Lakes.
Disliked: Nothing.

Exceptional

Cosy friendly cottage

Liked: Cosy cottage, intimate and friendly.Outside of town, it’s very refreshing to wake up to a beautiful green view and only a short drive to amenities.
Disliked: The owner was too pushy selling the books for the charity fundraising she was running, it felt almost an obligation for the guests.

Lovely B&B for a solo...

Liked: Lovely breakfast, Stuart and Sandy were extremely welcoming. Cosy ensuite room, ideal for a solo trip.
Disliked: Nothing.

Enjoyable stay, good location, friendly...

Liked: We had a most enjoyable stay with Stuart and Sandy. Our cottage was nice and cosy (loved the sheep themed decoration!) and featured a well equipped kitchen (which we didn't use appart from the kettle as we preffered to visit the pubs in Torver and Coniston). Stuart provided us with a delicious breakfast every morning (we were offered a choice of salmon and scramble eggs and the traditional full cooked and there were fruits and joghurts as well as cereals). It's not far from the lake and ideal for hiking the Coniston fells - the Old Man of Coniston can be done right from the doorstep. We also enjoyed the company of Tommy the cat and the three very friendly Golden Retrievers after breakfast, so that's an additional bonus for cat and dog lovers.
