No thanks, definitely wouldnt stay...

Liked: It looked nice from the outside. That is about it unfortunately.
Disliked: No one on reception when we arrived around 7pm. Rung the bell several times without reply and then someone suddenly appears. Room 29 we are given, following the maze of corridors, up steps, down steps, back up steps to our room at the end. Turning the light on in the entrance was greeted with a flickering light that didn't stop flickering. Go to turn on the light to give us some light in the room, again flickering before it eventually turns on. The main light for the room is not where you'd expect it (in the middle of the room on the ceiling), no, its on a wall partly behind the TV! Bed creeks, just from placing our suitcase on it so knew we would be in for a rough 2 nights sleep, every movement resulted in creaks from the bed legs. The bed legs looked out of alignment which probably explains the noise. Go to use the bathroom, the door creaks (seeing any patterns here?) and was met with a stench of grease/ fat which I assume was being pulled into the bathroom from the kitchen below. Toilet seat hanging off the toilet so had to be extra careful when sitting down. Extractor fan in the bathroom has fallen apart was just propped up. Surely all of these issues, didn't suddenly occur after the housekeeping team had made up our room and I wonder how long these issues have been like this. These are quick issues to fix but clearly no one cares for their guests here. Go down to breakfast the next morning to find no one at the reception desk to raise these issues, try again that evening upon our return for our 2nd night to no one on the desk. Go back down to check out the following morning at 10am to again find no one on the desk so drop the keys in the return cage and leave. Definitely wouldn't return.

Good

Liked: Proximity to Carfest was great. Rooms comfortable and a good price including breakfast. Wouldn’t pay £11.50 for the breakfast.
Disliked: Stayed for four nights. Only requested one room clean but they only did half the job. No bed made and only one bin emptied. Continental breakfast wasn’t topped up no matter what time you came down. Food service quite slow.

Disappointing - 2.0 out of 5

Pretty Rubbish.

Liked: The car park was a good size and it was near to the festival.
Disliked: The staff at Breakfast extremely rude. At least half an hour wait for my food and when it came most of the items missing as the chef had run out of the ingredients to make it. Room was dusty . Tv control very awkward and difficult to use as it was cheap and nasty. Bath panel was coming off and toilet seat loose. Only given one breakfast tea bag for tea making. Had to lug luggage up and down a lot of stairs . No help offered. Bed and pillows hard and extremely uncomfortable so got no sleep. Would not return.

Lovely efficient staff. Rooms need...

Liked: Staff were friendly and very helpful with change to booking and arrival late after Carfest. Cheerful and helpful at breakfast
Disliked: The bathroom is just about acceptable- yes it’s clean but no toilet roll holder, soap and evidence of mould in tiles and dated. Room ok for one night, comfortable bed but v basic and dated. Curtains felt like they were about to fall off if you tugged too hard

Good value clean hotel

Liked: Clean, good food, friendly staff
Disliked: Rooms are in need of refurbishment, looking tatty and held together with copious amounts of mastic.
