Liked: Free room upgrade for birthday which was an amazing suprise! Staff were amazing, building and ground beautiful. Restaurant and food was amazing! Spa was wonderful
Disliked: Blinds opened themselves at 7.30am, maybe a programming issue on the lighting control system?Appart from that, perfect

Beautiful hotel poor service and...

Liked: The reception staff where terrible. My mother in her mid 70’s was left dragging her bags across the hotel grounds and going around in circles in the hotel trying to find the reception. Crossing many staff who did not help. When eventually finding the reception the staff where terrible. Completely ruined my mums Mother’s Day surprise of spa treats when checking in and where very helpful and odd. I was shocked at that lack of professionalism in a 5 star hotel. The restaurant staff were very good and pleasant. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was boiling. Despite getting it turned down it was still very hot. We were unable to sleep with the heat and noise of guest or cleaners at 3am in the hallway. It was an expensive trip with time off work and travel ect. All very disappointing and not worth the extra expense of a 5 star hotel considering the poor service. We had better reception and welcome at a premier inn. Although the hotel and grounds are beautiful and tasteful the reception staff and lack of consideration of guest was certainly not 5 star. Having complained to the manager an apology was given by way of discount on the food bill. Although this was appreciated it was not a reflection of the poor service and didn’t make up for all the money spent on the hotel bill and trip so didn’t make up for the poor hotel service and hotel experience. Was a token but not a true apology. On reflection I wish I had challenged the whole bill based on the experience.
