Won’t be returning

Liked: Place is pretty worn down. Stains on minimal carpeting, bed skirt, drawer missing from bed table. Smoke alarm was taped together in bedroom
Disliked: Replace bedding or use stain removal to rid them of stains. Finish painting around bathroom exhaust, replace broken smoke alarm. Little things would make a BIG difference

Good

Liked: The room was a great size and it was clean. Good location near Apple Hill.
Disliked: The lighting was dim with all the lights on. The beds were low to the ground, uncomfortable and lumpy.

Liked: There was no breakfast option. The AC and heat worked great and was not noisy. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Room was clean.
Disliked: The bathroom could use some more hooks for wet towels or clothing. There are only 2 small hooks right above the toilet paper, which is not a good location as it gets in the way of the roll of toilet paper.

We always stay here when...

Liked: The Westhaven is conveniently located. Very short drive to Apple Hill and Placerville. And the drive down to South Lake Tahoe in one direction or the Sacramento/Folsom are the other isn't very long. In fact, you are right in the middle here. The nice couple that runs this hotel are always friendly and easy to work with. And the rooms are big with in room coffee!

Superb

Liked: I come here every year in early June to spend time outdoors. This place is always nice and reasonably priced. It is family run and they take good care of it and are very kind. The rooms are large, well insulated from highway noise, and have great small refrigerators. They also have a tiny balcony with sliding glass doors so you don’t feel it boxed-in.

The room was clean and...

Liked: I loved the area and all of the trees. The room was also much larger than expected and had a porch area in back
Disliked: The bed and pillows were very uncomfortable. We could actually feel the springs in the mattress. The refrigerator also didn't work which was a big problem because I had medication that needed to stay refrigerated. Also had ants on the vanity.

Good value for the price,...

Liked: The rooms were spacious, equipped with mini fridge coffee and microwave. Perfect for traveling with kids. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful
Disliked: The rooms had some weird smell, like been closed for a long time, and I made a reservation for 4 people and the room had only 2 towels. (however they gave me the extra 2 when asked)

Exceptional

Liked: Great location, great price. Got the job done for what I needed. Close to many food/gad options. Appreciated the microwave AND mini fridge. Don't get microwaves much any more.
