As we were attending a...

Liked: Room-good with controllable heatingBar area very busy with wedding party and not big enough to accommodate everyoneBreakfast was good although would have liked something other than instant decaff coffee both at breakfast and especially at the wedding mealGood for noise level in evening to have separate accommodation block
Disliked: Larger bar area, decent decaff coffee and decaff teaThe key card was very temperamental especially on entry to the accommodation blockWas unpleasant having to brave the pouring rain to go between the main hotel and the accommodation block. Some umbrellas of covered walkway would be good

Exceptional

Liked: Everything, staff, food, room. Attention to detail. A lot of hotels would benefit from taking a few tips on how to offer decent customer service from this hotel I had booked a courtyard room but wished I had booked in the main hotel, I requested a possible upgrade (which I was more than happy to pay in full for) but due to them being EXTREMELY busy with weddings, they were unable to accommodate my request, HOWEVER they went above and beyond to make sure that everything was done to make our stay a wonderful experience. An absolutely brilliant team in a brilliant hotel.
Disliked: Nothing not to dislike

Disappointing

Liked: The main part of the hotel is very nice. The courtyard at the rear is lovely. Bar area and lounge is very pleasant.
Disliked: Room 201 in the Courtyard.. no sleep whatsoever. Whatever room directly above you can hear them walking around and it shakes the ceiling and light to the point of NO SLEEP. You can also hear the toilet flushing LOUD! The dinner in the evening, have to say a total rip off. The ?chips? are actually huge tasteless style wedges and the chicken escalope was like a kids portion but cost 18. The braised beef fillet.. 29 and the tightest of portions. The courtyard room and the main restaurant I would say need to be avoided.

Brilliant evening meal, clearly excellent...

Liked: Excellent evening meal, Super chefs, let down by poor front of house. The man at the next table said to us, ?brilliant meal, but the service was s?-? which he repeated three times! Says it all!
Disliked: The room we were given was most certainly not 4 star. Awful building, don?t know how it can be called a ?courtyard? room! We were next to the entrance and our door would hang when people entered the building. Plus toilet seat was loose! Fan in bathroom extremely noisy.

Stylish racecourse stay

Liked: The HUGE bed, bath, large room and location next to the racecourse and within walking distance of the town. The breakfast was good, efficiently served on a hot plate to keep warm well.
Disliked: Disappointed that our room was in 1 of the outer buildings rather than the main House (shown) BUT given the VFM and knowledge that this was a popular wedding and events venue, understandable. Unfortunately the walls and ceiling thinness made for a noisy night and morning with the noise from other guests.

A beautiful hotel but some...

Liked: The bed was extremely comfortable and the food was delicious.
Disliked: We had no hot water in our room. This was reported to reception. Also, there was a lot of noise above our room - people constantly walking across. We had to get up as housekeeping were trying to get into our room at 8.45am.
