Okay for one night, especially...

Liked: - Location is truly truly great - right by the Central Park. - Great views. - Price was very good, given that it's NYC. - Cool to support YMCA :)
Disliked: - I was disappointed, the place looked weird. Hallways looked like a prison and our room was small, ugly and fairly dirty. - No breakfast. - No fridge in the room, no communal kitchen.. - There was this chemical smell everywhere - from cleaning. - Communal showers only had curtains, the water pressure was crazy strong. No free toiletries...

Budget accommodation with absolutely no...

Liked: I loved the view out the window to central park. That was a absolute bonus, as the room was not what pics on website showed, was very very disappointing
Disliked: As above regarding the website pics are better than how the rooms actually are, a real let down, no wifi access In rooms, and bathroom did not look like it had been cleaned professionally in yonks, someone else's hair in all corners of bathroom, that's just not acceptable, no hot water in the first room we booked, I went back to reception complained and upgraded to deluxe room, this was hardly deluxe or a upgrade, but it had a epic window that opened to central park views, yay some light finally to sweeten this experience, top floor n far right corner room 1305 ??bathroom grubby like the first room but that window, see my pic

WestSide YMCA

Liked: Location, price, ease of access to everything, having access to the YMCA fitness facilities, it was quiet, well maintained, the security to get into the building was good
Disliked: Never enough toilet paper in the bathroom, of the 3 shower stalls: 1 always almost flooded, the middle was fine, the other one was only cold water!! So water constantly on the floor pooling. Do wish that it was necessary to scan your card for admittance to the residential floors (for added security) not having water filling stations on the residential floors was a pain,

Comfortable stay.

Liked: It’s clean and safe. Staff OK. Can store luggage w/ a fee and secure. Has single room w/ private bathroom, TV, safe, air conditioner, mini fridge. Has desk n chair, place to put stuff n to hang clothes. Bed comfortable.
Disliked: Property ok. Several blocks to walk to Columbus Circle subway station.
