Tired!

Liked: Location great and nice grounds but central parts of the hotel are old fashioned and tired
Disliked: Room small for 2 and very hot despite it not being much over 20 outside

Superb

Liked: The staff were friendly and very helpful. Moved rooms due to heatwave and into a room with AC. Had to wait a day but staff did all they could to accommodate.The hotel is a taste of history with beautiful old paintings and information on hand.The grounds were gorgeous, lots of different trees with info. We got into the habit of a walk in the grounds after breakfast. Beautiful!
Disliked: Would have been good if original room had AC and negated move.The elevated was very slow to arrive and sometimes not available. Fortunately we were able to use the!stairs.

Liked: Great location and beautiful woodland
Disliked: The shower was awful. No real water pressure and either too hot or too cold but this seemed to be the case in many of the rooms. Mattress a bit tired too.

Dark dingy room. Rude staff....

Disliked: Pictures are deceiving Staff are beyond rude £75 ‘insurance’ taken upon arrival not mentioned anywhere when booking.

Liked: The staff at the reception were lovely,the beautiful nature around the hotel looked amazing.
Disliked: Hi,I didn't ask for a quiet room.It would of been nice to have the breakfast included.The room was small for the price paid.The dinner at the restaurant was not tasty enough for the prices paid,I have asked for prosecco and I received Champaign.Thank you,I hope this feedback will help you in the future.

It was very comfortable stay...

Liked: The room was very spacious and well equipped. The bed was comfortable and there was plenty of room. We had travelled down to celebrate a birthday and attend a wedding. The space in the room we had booked was very convenient and comfortable for getting ready in the morning and for relaxing after a very hot day of engagements. The coffee machine was essential for us and the complimentary bottles of water very welcome as it was very hot. The fans provided were put to good use.
Disliked: It was quite dusty, the bedside fan needed to be cleaned throughly. The area around the radiator in the bathroom needs a through clean. As the windows had to be kept open as it was exceptionally hot, we noticed that the outside of the window sills was full of cobwebs and dust. The coffee machine lid was also dusty.

Beautiful but cold business sense

Liked: The staff were very nice and communicative. The grounds were amazingly beautiful and peaceful. It really made the holiday very special.
Disliked: Deals should have been a possibility for breakfast when we chose to promote your hotel to many from our Wedding, who booked at the same time, which was not possible via any other companies such and Booking.com, other than through your own website. It left a sour taste in all of our mouths that the same rate still stood, although we were so many in number. Even a slight discount would’ve shown willing and that you were looking at getting repeat business not only how much you could squeeze from us at 1 time. A large spider was in our room and an additional either soap or handwash beside the sink, would’ve been more convenient rather than having to move the soap bottle between having a shower and washing one’s hands. A hotel with so much space and grounds should have larger rooms. It was a little disappointing in comparison with bothers abroad, being very well travelled.
