Always feel welcome at west...
Liked: I have stayed at this property on several occasions for work little outdated especially with room facilities and TV but generally a nice hotel and the staff especially big shout out to Lisa on reception is fantastic and certainly makes you feel welcome. Also if the weather is good great outdoor eating area.
Disliked: No air conditioning and very limited TV channels when been a solo traveler WiFi is also very limited in certain rooms due to old building

Disappointed with a "Cosy Room"-it´s...
Liked: We have been to this hotel many times before and have always had a very nice stay here in nice and comfortable rooms. The staff are friendly and enthusiastic. The hotel is always clean. It is a "mature hotel" in the traditional way, with very little pandering to modern stylings, but is extremely well-maintained and the gardens are to die for.
Disliked: Unfortunately, we booked during a very busy period and the hotel was full. We arrived at 10 pm and were put in room 71, which turns out to be the only dog-friendly room. We weren´t advised of this and this could have been a problem if you were allergic to dogs. This was in a separate building to the main hotel, which I think was probably staff quarters. It was on the 1st floor and the lift had a permanent sign on it saying that it was no longer used. The sign offered a porter service for baggage, but as that meant that we would have to struggle back to reception to get a porter I had to carry our bags upstairs. My wife and I are both in our mid 70´s and not bursting with energy, especially after an international flight,- so perhaps the receptionist could have spotted that and provided a porter, or at least warned us of no lift. Once in the room, it was apparent that it was extremely small and could only just get a 4ft 6in bed in it. The smallest bed I have ever seen in a hotel, never mind a 4 star hotel. The bed had what I think was a 14 guage sprung mattress on it. About 6 inches thick with very weak springs and very little stuffing if any, most likely a felt pad only. Very Very cheap. There was NO mattress topper on the bed, so it was extremely uncomfortable. What hotel these days doesn´t have comfortable beds with mattress toppers at least (if not just for hygiene)? The shower room was so small that the sink was less that 30cms deep and if you stood at the sink your bum nearly touched the wall!.Both of us woke up with awful backs after such a restless night, in the morning requested another room. After some kerfuffle we were moved, but the hotel had run out of clean mattress toppers. Eventually, one was found.Being full is no excuse for poor planning.HINT..don´t take room 71.

Lovely location and staff
Liked: Lovely location and staff
Disliked: We love the venue (2nd visit in a month), but sadly both my wife and I were bitten to shreds by bedbugs.

Very well run family hotel
Liked: Exceptionally helpful staff, beautiful grounds, remarkably quiet and one of the brightest and cleanest gentlemen's toilets I have ever been in.
