Wensum Valley Hotel Golf and Country Club

Myself and my boyfriend stayed for 1 night whilst attending Sundown festival at the Norfolk Showground. £85 for a double room including breakfast. Good selection of breakfast, juices, cereals, yougurt, fruit and menu with cooked breakfast & toast etc. Very spacious room, large double bed was more of a King/Queen than a double! Very clean and equipped with tea/coffee & kettle. Also there was an iron with board in the lobby which was handy for guests. Free on-site parking and access to the Club's facilities including swimming & gym with use of towels. Would definitely stay again.

Wouldn’t recommend!

Liked: Views of the golf course from the bar.
Disliked: Arrived at 5.30pm for our room, with check in that day anytime from 2pm. We were advised that we hadn’t been allocated a room and that we’d have to wait for one to become available. We eventually got our room, and for £150 for the night it was incredibly basic. Cleanliness of the room was poor, you could tell it was a rush job. Dust everywhere and room and bathroom was dirty. It was not what you’d expect given the price tag charged for that night. Hotel offered compensation the next morning for £50 given the issues, but even at £100 it was not what you’d expect. Basic cleanliness is a must. This was topped off by being woken up early morning by an aerobics class in the gym room below with music blaring and an instructor shouting throughout. Again, staff didn’t advise this would be happening as we wouldn’t have agreed to have a room above that. Not a relaxing stay in anyway shape or form, so wouldn’t recommend.

Liked: Lovely clean room. Pool and spa Breakfast was excellent with plently of choice. Staff very efficient and friendly.
Disliked: The hot water in shower could have been hotter. While with stayed before and other places with a pool and spa we have been able to use the next day after checking out. It now appears you have to hand your key in the pool facility to use. It's such a shame as a few hours after breakfast would be nice to use before you leave.

Disliked: Over prices.Room they gave me hadn't been cleaned when I went in so had to be moved to another room which would have Ben cheaper but no refund given

Liked: It wasn’t bad value the bar staff were nice. But the accommodation was a dump. And no iron and no answer when I tried to get one
