Liked: Had such a nice night! All the people I spoke to were lovely, with a beautiful room and stunning bathroom. Love the vintage elevator and huge mirror in the room. Would highly recommend if staying in Wellington for work like I was :)

Disliked: Very bad truck noise between 4.00am and 6.00am.Certainly not 'your fault' but if there are rooms available which are not street facing perhaps these could be used for Thursday stays.None of this is criticism of the hotel, it was very comfortable, a lovely building, and terrific value

Disappointing

Liked: The hotel is well preserved in its authentic age, the furnishing and layout are all delightful in that manner. The rooms were clean, the location was great. Rooms were well stocked with teas coffee, lovely old claw bath in room.
Disliked: We were at the hotel for 48 hours and only came across any staff ( or other guests) once, it felt deserted. Despite saying the reception was manned till 5 pm, on arrival ( before 5 pm), for check in We were directed to lock boxes and self directed entrance, our check-in was also done by a message left at the desk with no staff there to speak to. There was a number for the night manager who was responsive but not on site. I had arranged for a parcel to go to the hotel from another venue assuming it was a staffed reception but they were unable to deliver the parcel, when we went to check out on a Saturday morning at 10 am, once again there were no staff at the desk, just a sign telling us what to do. In both evenings there was no-one around as we entered the hotel at 4 pm or leaving and returning through the evening. For the price of the hotel I felt it was definitely understaffed and under serviced. We wanted to leave our bags at the hotel until we went to the airport and had to call the night manager to make this arrangement- which they did but we were advised the hotel was to be closed for the weekend so need to be clear on time to come back to get bags as no-one was due to be at the hotel for the whole weekend. had it been staffed that arrangement would have been much more natural. Felt more like an Airbnb than a hotel. Was very weird. To be fair, the staff we did see on the Friday morning were very friendly. Would just have been nice to have them at the relevant check in and check out times as expected for most hotels.

Short business trip to Wellington

Liked: Room is comfortable, with good bed, hot shower and a reasonable sized TV with a good selection of channels.
Disliked: Nothing worthy of commentary here.
