Now One of my favourites...
Liked: We liked everything about this stay. The room was spacious, old like the grand Manor House itself.. the decor was perfect.. with its hanging chandeliers and wooden staircase. The place was not huge with just 14 bedrooms. It felt homely. plus I just love the old buildings and style. We had everything we needed from soap to teabags in the room. There was a bar but we had made other arrangements. The hotel was clean., and felt like we had stepped into the past. We have stayed in numerous hotels which range from terrible to exceptional. This came in one of my favourites. For some, the antique feel and remoteness of the hotel, may not be their choice. For us it was fab!The staff were friendly. The receptionist Katie, was fabulous and made us feel so welcome. from arrival to check out. she was there advising us, and made us so welcome at breakfast. The breakfast was very good. The presentation of food was lovely, plenty to eat.We had a lovely stay thank you,I judge my stays by asking myself would I go back again? Yes I would… for longer next time.lol
Disliked: The postcode on the sat nav took us elsewhere.

Disliked: Corridor outside the room was very cold and there was a lot of noise from staff entering the building in the early hours.

Very Poor with Terrible Customer...
Liked: Location close to friends and building itself is very nice.
Disliked: We booked a stay for two nights at a cost of £380. Breakfast is advertised to start at 7:30am and both mornings the chef had not arrived and we had two early starts, one was a rushed breakfast of granola and yoghurt which took ages to arrive and we didn't have time to eat and the second morning, no chef-no breakfast which we had paid for both mornings. There were no other guests staying in the hotel and staff left at 10pm each night leaving us alone. There was no explanation or sign on the back of the door to let us know what to do or where to go in the event of a fire either. Our room wasn't serviced during the stay, no beds made and no fresh towels. Contacted the owner who said they would respond to our complaint and despite a response saying that this would be looked into, almost a month later-nothing! Would never stay again, terrible customer service!

Unprofessional rural hotel - nice...
Liked: Nice rural situation
Disliked: We did NOT appreciate not being able to get into the hotel upon arrival at 9.30pm because the front door key provided did not work!! The young lady who answered our call and who came up from the village and who let us in with another key was charming and apologetic, but the manageress was indifferent to the point of uncaring when informed the following morningThe waiting staff were untrained and serving cold porridge does not create a warm welcome! We think this place is going through a crisis?!The converted outbuilding we were allocated as a twin bed room had a lingering smell of damp, and the shower tray and marble÷-tiled bathroom are lethally slippery with no bathmat supplied. This is an.accident waiting to happen.
