Alright, but some improvement needed

Liked: The restaurant is nice with great food and great staff. Plenty of parking space. The check in was relatively quick. The bed was comfortable. The breakfast was nice.
Disliked: The room (29) was smelly and when I turned the heater/air con unit on I realised it comes from the unit. Its service/cleaning is probably long overdue. Good job it was a mild day. The toilet seat had yellow marks on it so instead of making the effort to put the sticker "sanitised for you" around the toilet seat every time, they should put more effort in the cleaning itself. This particular room is right behind the car charging point so if you are sensitive to flashing green lights that curtains can't really block, that can be problematic. All of the issues can be resolved with a bit more attention to details.

Disliked: Could do with larger towels

Amazing food in the restaurant...

Liked: The restaurant was lovely, the staff were all very friendly the food was amazing. Would definitely eat here again. The room we stayed in looked recently painted which made it feel brighter.
Disliked: As you enter the door way the area smelt lovely as you go though the next door it did not smell so good then when we opened the door to our room again a smell hits. I went to the window to let in some air to help clear the stagnant smell unfortunately I came across the previous tenants nail clipping on the window ledge and the floor. We think the smell was coming from the air unit as when you put it on the smell came back.

Liked: Room very comfortable. Bar good and food good too.
Disliked: Very poor wi-fi in bedroom.Location good except if you require a taxi. Need to book several hours in advance! Clearly not the responsibility of hotel, but can be very inconvenient.

Disliked: Always stopped in front bit when coming through to see son and family who live in staplehurst, this time was in the building at tge back, smelt so fusty :(

Liked: Love the location. Food was excellent & staff very friendly
Disliked: This time we stayed in the Lodge. To far from main venue, we are in our 70's & it was too dark to walk to restaurant. Appeared to have contractors in lodge who were a little noisy when returning to their rooms. Would make sure we ask NOT to have room in lodge next time
