Located in the heart of the Norfolk Broads this 3-star riverside hotel is within reach of Norwich Great Yarmouth and the delightful Norfolk Coast. Dating in parts from the 17th century the hotel overlooks the picturesque River Ant on the ancient Wayford Bridge crossing point. Offering a exceptional location for holidaymakers and business travelers alike many rooms offer attractive views of the river and its beautiful surroundings. Relax in our warm comfy lounges or in the restaurant where a variety of interesting cuisine is on offer. During the warmer months our large terrace offers the ideal place to watch the world go by. We have some dog friendly garden king rooms but please call us before arrival as manager authorization is required and we need to confirm the request. Not all rooms are suitable and our classic doubles twins and family room are strictly not dog friendly and customers with pets will be refused as will such bookings without prior confirmation. Relax in our warm comfy lounges or in the restaurant where a variety of interesting cuisine is on offer. During the warmer months our large terrace offers the ideal place to watch the world go by. We are unable to accept bookings with caravans due to parking limitations or allow non residents to sleep in their vehicles on our car park. If you have a commercial or a larger vehicle please call at time of booking so we can make arrangements or advise if we cannot. Not all rooms are suitable and our classic doubles twins and family room are strictly not dog friendly and customers with pets will be refused as will such bookings without prior confirmation. October 2023 - We have been notified that during October there will be repair works to the Wayford Bridge (the bridge infront of the hotel) over the month. The council have said that this work will not be at night or over weekends however the bridge will close and traffic will be diverted via Ludham for travelers from the South. We will also be installing solar panels during this October on the Garden Rooms building though this is to be confirmed and should only take 7 - 14 days.

Superb

Liked: Breakfast was very good and the staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough to help us. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. Had dinner one evening in the restaurant and had the fishcakes which were delicious. If we were in the area again wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

A comfortable stay in cosy...

Liked: Lovely cosy hotel with some unusual but appealing seating/dining areas.Bed very comfy and 'resident' wi-fi good.Enjoyed cooked breakfast especially the eggs and mushrooms, Staff were friendly, attentive and amiable to us
Disliked: Slept with window open as always do. Surprised how busy the nearby main road was 6am till gone 11pm and that noise was unexpectedThought the menu could have been a little clearer on what you could fully have for breakfast.A bit of tension between staff members

Exceptional

Liked: The hotel was very clean rooms spotless,the staff were attentive and friendly and the food was excellent and good value. The location was quiet and we had a really good night's sleep . We will stay here again.
Disliked: There was nothing we didn't like but perhaps would have been nice to have a lounge for residents to relax before going to the restaurant.

Liked: The staff were very welcoming and helpful, the bar area was inviting and comfortable and the rooms were very cleanWe had dinner in the restaurant, the food choices on the menu were excellent, it was well presented and the staff were brilliant.The breakfast was very good.
Disliked: I would have preferred a king size bed rather than a double.
