Lovely old hotel, plenty of...

Liked: Very old hotel with lots of character. We had a premium room overlooking the river . The room was lovely with big windows so plenty of light. Had meal in their restaurant which was lovely. Breakfast was lovely., and included in the room price.
Disliked: The toilet in the room did not work. We were moved to a less superior room. This tended to be noisy as it was lower down. We could hear the people in adjacent rooms and creaking floors above. We were compensates and were told the toilet problem had been fixed and so next day were put back into the premium room only to find later that evening that we still had issues with the toilet flushing. Again we were compensated but it had put a damper on our stay there.No lift.

An outstanding Hotel in a...

Liked: Fantastic riverside location. Lisa, the manager, and her team were excellent...exceedingly friendly and helpful. The restaurant menu offers "Dexter" beef burgers...these are outstanding, so much so that I purchased some form the local butchers to take home. Can highly recommend this hotel. We shall be returning!
Disliked: Nothing.

Disliked: On the top floor, 3 flights up with luggage is a little tiring. Nice room but I had to duck to get out of bed due to beams and slope ceiling . Nice bathroom but no stand up shower, had to sit in the bath to shower, again due to slope ceilings.
